The Canterbury Eagles are always looking for new players, and every single one of our current players started out at the same place: not knowing how to skate! Learn to Skate classes are run at Canterbury Ice Rink every Saturday from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Once you have started to learnt the basics of skating, you can try your hand at learning ice hockey! At the younger ages (especially 10 and under) it is best to simply join up with one of our teams and you can learn as you play. For those players who are slightly older (or even learning to play as adults) then the Ice Hockey Development School is your best option. It runs at Canterbury Ice Rink every Saturday afternoon from 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM and caters to players ranging from absolute beginners who have never held a stick right through to players who are ready to join a team. In no time you’ll be ready to join up with one of our teams and play in a full Winter season!
